CMS, busy building defenses against the fraud and abuse exposed by Operation Brace Yourself, is rolling out its latest condition of payment in October for certain back and knee braces. For anyone keeping up with Medicare’s response to the massive FBI operation that turned up billions of dollars of claim fraud, we count:

    • Face-to-Face and Written Order Prior to Delivery requirements,
    • PDAC classification,
    • Inclusion in the current Competitive Bidding Program, and of course
    • Prior Authorization.

That is a lot of conditions for payment.

For DME suppliers that provide affected braces – and are not trying to defraud Medicare – that means a heap of ways to lose time and money on legitimate product deliveries.

To stay ahead, join us for Master Class: Highly-Scrutinized Back and Knee Braces on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 1:00 PM (ET). In this session Andrea explores:

    • Essential coverage guidelines for knee and back braces (mostly off-the-shelf).
    • Expired pandemic waivers for face-to-face visits.
    • Competitive Bidding.
    • New mandatory prior authorization requirements.

As always, Andrea answers all attendee questions during the live Q&A session after the presentation.
